Somepro and Al Maghribia meet Beni Mellal to develop new strategies for agricoltural development

Beni Mellal, Morocco, 27/09/11 – Investment opportunities in agriculture have been the focus of a meeting held Tuesday in Beni Mellal, including officials of the Regional Center of Investment (CRI),  Moroccan and Italian entrepreneurs in the region of Tadla Azilal.

Somepro participates to the meeting in collaboration with Al Mhagribhia proposing the project “Ma terre, mon peuple” offering new ways to develop sustainable and ethical farming in the region.

The non-profit association Al Maghribia is present with her president M.es Noura Faouzi.

During the meeting, which took place in the presence of representatives of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture (CRI), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Milan, the women’s cooperatives and others associations participating in Morocco and in Italy, many investment projects have been presented in milk products and olive oil.

The olive oil project is presented by Gianfranco Stamerra and Cesare Polzella respectively as a project coordinator and technical responsible manager.

The farm in the third millennium

The deep social and economic transformations that are occurring in the last 10 years necessarily require reflections to the economic actors directly linked to agriculture.

Some factors such as the progressive reduction of arable land in the hands of individual producers and purchasing policies “aggressive” of agricultural products, have led to a significant narrowing of the margin of farmers.


It seems now clear that the family farm of the third millennium will no longer be merely a producer of fresh food, but it has to incorporate in its production process also some features typical of other areas such as its food industry, processing of waste materials , community service and educational training.
